Four Seasons fill the measure of the year; There are four seasons in the mind of man.
—from “The Human Seasons” by John Keats
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven . . .
—Ecclesiastes 3:1
I was inspired to create Around the Year because of the great joy I feel when I celebrate the seasons of nature and the yearly cycle of Christian feasts, festivals, holy days. This way of life is so enriching and meaningful for my whole family, and I wanted to share what I learned with others so that they, too, could experience renewed spirituality and an appreciation of God’s creation in their own lives. Around the Year is a place to learn about a different way of experiencing time than that which exists on the clock or your smartphone. Here you will find crafts, recipes, activities, and ideas inspired by nature’s progression through the four seasons, and the Church’s movement through the Christian year. New content is added throughout the year.
Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in sæcula sæculorum. Amen.
(Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, and now, and always, and to the ages of ages. Amen.)
